The Chile Dental Show, the largest dental trade exhibition in this prosperous Latin American country, is the perfect excuse to combine business and pleasure. Over 3,000 dentists are expected to attend the 28-30 May 2009 international expo, which also offers the unique opportunity to visit the famous Chile Wine Route or even venture to Easter Island.

The director of the expo known in Spanish as Salon Dental de Chile, Miguel Wechsler, said the 6th Chile Dental Show will be the best by far. Over 120 companies will attend the meeting, which for the first time will take place at Espacio Riesco, Chile’s largest convention center with over 80,000 square feet of exhibition space.

The 2009 Chile Dental Show will have state-of-the-art features and booths, and top-quality academic and tourist events to enhance the experience.

Statistics show the Chile dental market is growing yearly at a rate of 10 per cent and organizers are confident the 2009 expo will exceed the US $2.5 million in sales from 2008. There are over 10,000 dentists in Chile, most of them in the capital, Santiago.

One reason for this growth is the economic stability of Chile. In addition, the Chile government has an open policy regarding imports, which allows exhibitors to bring equipment and materials without restrictions or delays, and to take them back if not sold.

In addition, Chile offers not only a myriad of tourism, but sports and culinary attractions. From hot springs near Santiago to the pristine landscapes of the Chiloe islands, the famous deep-water Chilean Sea bass to unique mollusks like the tasty scallop-like 'locos.' May is also ski season in Chile, and if you like fishing, a true paradise to practice this sport in a singular environment.
